Day 1

Mission 1: Evaluate Yourself

"Your first mission is to write answers to the following questions. Don't worry about what anyone else will think of your answers. Your goal is to be as honest with yourself as possible"

1: Write one or two sentences describing how you believe other people currently perceive you."

That guy who can be really shy and awkward when in a room of people he doesn't know and is somebody who you would feel uncomfortable to talk to or the guy when with friends acts a bit too immature and loud.

2: "Write one or two sentences describing how you'd like to be perceived by others"

The smart, confident and charismatic guy who you can easily approach and converse with.

3: "List three of your behaviors or characteristics you would like to change"

Number one: Degree of arrogance- too much makes girls think your just a jerk and not funny
Number two:  Shyness/awkwardness- Don't be shy to say "Hi" and just calmly interact with others
Number three: Stuttering and mumbling words/talking fast- girls will think your a nervous wreck

4: "List three new behaviors or characteristics you would like to adopt"

Number one: Charisma- just that element which people will be like hey, that guy seems laid back, easy to talk to and the "there's something about him"
Number two: Keeping focus and concentration- Having that extra edge and wit when talking to girls.
Number three: Intelligence- stop saying stupid shit and think before you say, don't always have to say something in your mind, if it sounds  good say it, if it sounds dumb and irrelevant keep zipped up.

Mission 2: Read and Destroy

Reading the manifesto " The Chains That Bind"-Read it, some really useful facts in there. Particulary enjoyed the one that to overcome a "limiting belief" all you have to do is think of a time when you said the same thing but you managed to dispell your belief. In the first instance I thought of the time I can't do maths but then I remembered a time last year, under pressure in the exam, I needed to get the recurring decimal question right, I could have left it and be 4 marks short, I didn't I persisted and eventually ended up getting it right and I know thats what got me the "A*" in unit 2 calculator paper for Maths, got 23/25 marks, I think. This is great because this will enable me to have the confidence and will power to engage brain and overcome my limiting belief and to ace AS level Maths.

In this context, the question in the book said " think of a time when you was comfortable around beautiful girls" Hmmm I agree, I would clam up and be extremely nervous around them but then I stop to think and infact, I do already kind of talk to pretty girls without sweating a bucket, there's nothing to worry about.

Basically, all the "limiting beliefs" in the manifesto, I think at one point in the last couple of months I've had, it's great that the book has already dispelled them, for example, "people judging you is actually not the case and they are scared of being judged themselves, or women are not attracted to nice guys, just jerks...

The two I find most compelling is  that if you try and approach a girl, she'll think your lame and trying to hit on her, that only happens if you make her feel uncomfortable and creep them out if you approach them badly.

The greatest "limiting belief" which has really hit home for me is the " There's this one girl..." The truth in the book seems like the words of God himself, telling me what I should have done in the last couple of months as it says" If your hung up on one particular girl and can't get out of your mind-and she hasn't given you any sense that she shares the feelings(huntington)-then recognize that's not love your feeling, but obsession.

"interact with many women as possible...some of whom are capable of recognizing your worth and reciprocating your feelings.

I totally agree with the last statement, thats what I should have done, instead of moping around and feeling sorry for myself, ah well lesson learnt and myth dispelled, time to get on with mission three on Day 1!

Mission 3: Operation Small Talk

This mission sounds good, have work in a bit, so this is the perfect opportunity to do this.

-Edit-Mission completed:D

At work, I managed to start a conversation with atleast 5 people here's the list..

1:Couple called Mr and Mrs Gilby, usually come in every week, but I wasn't there for the last couple of weeks  and the conversation included I was good with management

2: old fella called Mr Bourne, usually orders, never spoke to him, caught him glancing at the back pages, talked about Charlton FC and Chris Powell

3:Mr Connolay- Haven't seen this dude in months, though the courtesy "how you keeping.." was in order

4: Mrs Wiseberg- This nice american lady, chit chat and she said she liked my hat!

5: A guy called Mr Oliver, this time not so successful, just said "have you been busy of late?" and the courtesy grunt "yeah, not too bad.." he then read the paper, still this counts.

6: Court- This bloke was reading the paper and I said to him "so what team do you follow?" He said Liverpool! haha I was so surprised, we had a nice chat about the teams woes and fortunes.

7: This couple, who ordered 40minutes ago for 7:05, we were running super late, soI had to fill the gap in with some chit chat, the meal wasn't ready till about 7:20, so I think I managed to keep them in check because usually you get freaking bad evils from people who are hungry and impatient. Spoke about Freeview boxes, Madonna, Sky 3d tv, Hammersmith Apollo, an 80's band called the Cult.

8: This lady, don't know her name, but we spoke about food, she told me how she went to this play in hastings for four and they had a bill of £54.00, which was apparently expensive. Also how new year's was super busy and people just buy 1/4 duck.

9: Last customer of the night, this lady and her husband come in called " Stuart" I think they're son-in-law or son was with them, then MOTD was on, Villa vs City, so I say " that's what you get for 18million!" In reference to DBent, had a coversation if in your current state and if you played 90mins every week in 38 games would you score a goal? and spoke about Van Persie etc.

Yup, Day 1, mission COMPLETE!
